Negotiations successful: Harter House coming to Berryville, owner says
Harter House is coming to Berryville.
After several months of discussions and negotiations, Brad Bettlach confirmed Monday that his attorney is reviewing a contract for the purchase of the space formerly occupied by formerly occupied by the Price Cutter grocery store in the Williams Shopping Center.
Bettlach, who owns and operates Harter House stores in Strafford and Shell Knob, Mo., with his wife, Angela, described the attorney’s review as a formality and said he expects to have the Berryville location open in a few months.
“We are coming,” he said.
Bettlach said he has reached an agreement to purchase the former Price Cutter store and a portion of the Williams Center parking lot from Crockett Properties Inc., which owns the shopping center.
“I’m excited,” he said. “But there’s a lot of work to do. As of today, the work starts. It will be a push for the next three to six months.”
Price Cutter, which had been owned and operated by Harps Foods, closed in March and the space formerly occupied by the store has been vacant since then.
Bettlach is a grandson of Harter House founders Jerry and Barbara Bettlach. Harter House has seven locations in southwest Missouri and is already popular among Carroll County residents who visit the Shell Knob and Kimberling City locations.
