Tigers fall to Elkins in opener

Friday, November 16, 2018

The Green Forest Tigers lost their season opener at Elkins 62-37 Tuesday night, but coach Shane Compton said his team played well despite the final outcome.

I thought we played pretty well, he said. I dont think the score really tells the story of the game.

Compton said Green Forest was in contention for most of the first half until foul trouble caught up with the Tigers.

Senior Rhett Powell scored 15 points and senior Carter Boggs added nine for Green Forest, which will host Deer on Friday night.
