ELLIS LOWELL NORRIS, a resident of Springdale, Arkansas was born October 1, 1938, in Kingston, Arkansas, son of Tom and Kate (Edgmon) Norris. He departed this life October 30, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 80 years.
On July 11, 1958, he was united in marriage with Charlotte Standlee and enjoyed sixty years together. For forty-one of those years they lived in California where they raised their children. Ellis was an employee of the Downey Unified School District for forty-one years. He enjoyed his work as a school bus driver in the early years and transportation supervisor in the later years. He retired in 2000, bought an R.V. and took his wife traveling around the United States for four years. He was a member of Ozark Ridge Runners RV Group. Ellis always said those were some of the most enjoyable times he ever had.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Norris; five children, Lowell Norris of East Vale, California; Randall Norris, Sr. of Springdale; David Norris and wife, Rikki of Greenbrier; Melissa Norris of Fayetteville; Nicole Sperduto and husband, Albert of Berryville; seven grandchildren, Chad, Heather, Randall, Thomas, Samantha, David Ryan and Hayden; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; many other loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anna Kirby; and granddaughter, Ashlee Norris.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Brother Billy McCall officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to Willard Walker Hospice House, 325 E.
