Faculty members of the Berryville Middle School recently attended a 2018-2019 Family and Community Engagement Coalition Regional Meeting in Huntsville on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has made a commitment to support family and community engagement across the state in order for students to graduate prepared for college, careers and community engagement. The Family and Community Engagement Coalition, which includes students, family members, educators, business leaders, and community members from across the state, is developing a framework and toolkit for family and community engagement.

The framework will provide essential standards for support, and the toolkit will provide strategies and resources. The coalition will host regional meetings and encourages all stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, paraprofessionals, community members, and others, to attend to have a voice in the development of these resources.

Berryville Middle School staff that attended the coalition meeting were teachers Sarah Hanks and Marjie Dean and school counselor Judy Patterson.
