From Harrison to Berryville: Local woman arrested after lengthy chase
A Berryville woman was arrested Tuesday following a chase that began in Harrison and ended in Berryville.
According to Harrison Police Chief Paul Woodruff, the Harrison Police Department was notified Tuesday of a vehicle driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 65. He said one of the vehicle’s tires was down to the rim.
“We were able to locate the vehicle,” Woodruff said. “We tried to stop it, and it fled from us. Officers followed it into Berryville, where it wrecked.”
He said Berryville Police Department officers arrested the woman.
“I believe Berryville officers arrested her at that point on charges stemming from the crash,” Woodruff said. “We’ll file charges on the pursuit.”
Berryville Police Chief Robert Bartos confirmed that officers arrested Amy Dawn Qualls, 36, of Berryville.
According to the intake press release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Qualls was booked into the Carroll County Detention Center Wednesday, Oct. 24, on charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs, reckless driving, no proof of liability insurance and no vehicle license plate.
Bond for Qualls has been set at $25,000.
Bartos said the investigation is still open.
