RUTHIE MAY BIRCHFIELD, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas was born March 28, 1942 in Eureka Springs to Claude Boyd and Ida Bell (Mounce) Jarnagan. She passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2018 at the age of 76.
Ruthie enjoyed gardening and crocheting but she loved spending time with her family and friends more than anything.
On February 4, 1962, she was united in marriage with Wayne Daniel Birchfield who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harold Birchfield; and two sisters, Opal June Glenn and Myrtle McKinnley.
She is survived by two sisters, Edith Clinton and Martha Mowery, one daughter, Betty Clark and husband, Terry; one son, Darryl Birchfield and wife, Laura; nine grandchildren, Quinsey Daulton, Andrew Daulton and wife, Maranda, Bradley, Nicholas and Tyler Birchfield, Adam and Tiffini Clark, Amber and Thomas Denton; twelve great-grandchildren, Sam, Sally Mae, Jon, Josiah, Hannah, Cheyenne, Kallie, Kaden, Forrest, Kiera, Jaxen, and Zayden; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nelsonís Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 at Nelsonís Chapel of the Springs with Pastor Bonnie Austin officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Christian Unity Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
