BV Council schedules 2018 leaf pick-up

Berryville’s 2018 Leaf Pick-Up has been scheduled for November and the beginning of December.

Mayor Tim McKinney announced the dates and routes Tuesday at the Berryville City Council meeting.

“The leaf pickup is scheduled,” he said. “We’re pretty much going to do what we did last year.”

To ensure that leaves get picked up, residents are asked to put the leaves at the curb or the edge of the street on the Monday of their scheduled week.

Route 1 is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5, through Friday, Nov. 9 and includes the following streets: Wilson Drive, West Ridge Subdivision, Trinnen, Champion Hills, Chrisna Maria, Nunez, Oakview, Maple, North Ave., Railroad Circle, Spaulding, W. Freeman, Elm, Walnut, Cherry, Alma, Craig, Carson, Linda, Bobo, Jefferson, Park, Freeman Switch, Boyer, Charles, Garner, Highway 62 Spur, Champlin, Industrial Drive, Ruth, Highway 62 West (West Trimble), Birch Tree Subdivision

Route 2 is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 16 and includes the following streets: Springfield (from Freeman intersection north), East Freeman, Standley, Jennifer, Janet, Julie, Bobby, Brenda, Northside, Valley, Jackson, Mountain, Saunders Heights, Hill, Del Norte, Hanby, St. George, Graham, Lonnie Lane, Monte Vista, Meadowmere, Bryan, Dawn, Lynn, Wren, Pine, Locust, Sycamore, Hickory

Route 3 is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 30, and includes the following streets: West College, Potter, School, Ferguson, Campbell, Bunch, Miller, Curtis Lane, George, North Main, South Springfield (from Freeman intersection south), Perkins, Hogue, Hubbert, Monroe, Carl, Adams, Bunch Springs (city limits only), Country Court, West Trimble, Eureka, Academy, West View, Baker, Spring, Doxey, Fancher, Pinkley Lane, West Madison, West Church, Tabor, Gibson, McKennon, Rose, Phillips, Martin, Morris, Cedarvale, Swofford, Atchley, Clark, Huntsville, West Carl, Paradise Heights, Sunset Boulevard and Hank Boulevard.

Route 4 is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Dec. 7, and includes the following streets: Shaver, Pritchard, Ada, Caddie, Douglas, Hanna, Jericho, Duke, Smalley, East College, Chafin, Spruce, Laura, Carter Ave., Amanda, Kristy, Clive, Jessica, Marie, Rhea, Kimberly, East Madison, East Church, Branch, Cain, Elsie, McCloud, Basore, Simpson, East Carl, Hammons, Nelson Drive. Orchard, Rice, Edwards, Hammons, Carter Street, Hailey, Lone Pine, South Main, Circle Drive, Pleasant, High, Magnolia, Rebecca, Casey Lane, Oak Ridge and Paradise Cove.

All limbs will be picked up during the week of Monday, Nov. 19, through Friday, Nov. 21. Residents are asked to have them at the curb on Monday, Nov. 19, and all facing the same direction in manageable bundles. Limbs no bigger than nine inches in diameter on the largest end will be picked up. This program is for miscellaneous limbs that fall because of storms and time, not for complete tree trimming or tree removal. The service is provided for residential city addresses only, not commercial properties.

Also at the meeting, Berryville Police Chief Robert Bartos presented the police department’s monthly report for September. Last month, Bartos said, 104 citations were issued, 89 offenses were reported, six warrants were served, 15 fingerprints were done and eight VIN verifications were done. He said 12 accidents were reported, and the department took in $3,210 in fines and bonds. Bartos said the department had a clearance rate of 81 percent.

The council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at City Hall.
