GF board approves $500 staff bonus
The Green Forest School Board voted Monday to award a $500 bonus to all contracted employees in the Green Forest School District.
Superintendent Matt Summers said the $500 bonus is to be paid as a one-time check in November.
The board voted to approve a contract with PresenceLearning to provide online speech therapy at a rate of $67 per hour.
Summers said the district previously had two full-time speech pathologists but had one employee transfer to another district. Contracting with PresenceLearning will help fill that gap to provide speech therapy to students, he said.
“The only requirement for us is that an adult has to be in the room with the student,” Summers said, “which I think is a good thing.”
The board also voted to approve the 2018-19 ELL Policies and Program Guide and the annual electronic funds transfer authorization.
For personnel, the board voted to accept the resignations of custodian Maria Soto effective Sept. 28 and library and media specialist paraprofessional Suzanne Nelson effective Oct. 26.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the high school library.
