Lady Tigers start week with 2 victories

The Green Forest Lady Tigers bounced back strong after dropping two matches last week, rebounding with victories on back-to-back nights to start the week.
On Monday, the Lady Tigers beat Valley Springs in three sets, winning 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23 at the Grim Gym. Green Forest followed up on Tuesday night with another home victory, defeating Bergman in four sets by scores of 28-26, 25-16, 15-25 and 25-16.
The Lady Tigers had 24 service aces against Valley Springs, led by seven apiece from juniors Stacy Flores and Kiara Taylor. Sophomore Maddie Youngblood had seven kills in the match while Flores and senior Kassidy Bell added six kills apiece. Senior Lexey Williams recorded seven assists and Taylor had four blocks.
Youngblood had 12 kills in the four-set victory over Bergman while junior Alissa Smith contributed 10 of the Lady Tigers’ 34 service aces and Flores added eight.
Youngblood had three kills and Smith and Williams each had four aces in the deciding fifth set.
Green Forest (7-11) traveled to Clinton on Thursday night.
