Bobcat Back 40: Area teams compete in Berryville

The Berryville cross country team hosted the Bobcat Back 40 on Saturday. Eureka Springs and Green Forest also competed. Green Forest won the 1A-3A boys race, scoring 22 points, and Eureka Springs finished second, scoring 39 points. Lexington Hilton won the race with a time of 16 minutes and 21 seconds. Green Forest also won the 1A-3A girls race, scoring 25 points. Karina Maravillas won with a time of 19 minutes and 38 seconds. Individual results are as follows:

1A-3A boys: Green Forest's Hilton won in 16:21, while Eureka Springs' Kayden Eckman finished third in 17:35 and Green Forest's Jake Lopez finished fourth in 18:22. Eureka Springs' Tyler Stephenson finished sixth in 18:41, while Green Forest's Paco Rangel finished eighth in 18:47 and teammate Colin Delavin finished 10th in 19:19. Green Forest's Jacob McMahan finished 13th in 19:59, while teammates Alexis Rangel finished 14th in 20:05 and David Aguinana finished 15th in 20:34. Green Forest's Daniel Alvarez finished 16th in 20:46, while teammates Eli Gomez finished 18th in 21:59 and Tono Mendez finished 19th in 22:18. Green Forest's Jair Juarez finished 20th in 22:21, while Eureka Springs' Donte Kruse finished 21st in 22:40 and teammate Austin Moloney finished 22nd in 23:35. Eureka Springs' Joel Harris finished 27th in 24:40, while Green Forest's Kevin Solorzano finished 28th in 24:54 and Eureka Springs' Sam Gay finished 29th in 24:55. Green Forest's Chris Alcantara finished 30th in 25:09.

1A-3A girls: Green Forest won the girls race and Eureka Springs didn't have enough runners to form a team. Maravillas won for the Lady Tigers in 19:38, while her teammates Lucy Rios finished fourth in 23:31 and Lyndsay Anglin finished fifth in 23:32. Green Forest's Samantha Delavin finished seventh in 23:59, while teammates Michelle Calderon finished ninth in 24:05 and Jennifer Martinez finished 11th in 35:02. Green Forest's Emily Bolen finished 14th in 25:38, while teammate Margarita Vega finished 19th in 26:58 and Eureka Springs' Ana Tapia finished 24th in 28:40. Green Forest's Alejandra Lopez finished 25th in 29:56.

4A-5A boys: Siloam Springs won, scoring 31 points and Berryville finished third, scoring 64 points. Siloam Springs' Michael Capehart won in 17:06. Berryville's Braden Scrivner finished fourth in 17:56, while teammates Eduardo Rangel finished ninth in 18:34 and Brian Tovar finished 16th in 19:28. Berryville's Carlos Garduno finished 17th in 19:32, while teammates Nathan Engel finished 18th in 19:33 and Denver Knapp finished 19th in 19:38. Berryville's Caden Nickell finished 22nd in 19:57, while teammates Dominic Henry finished 26th in 20:22 and Grant Lee finished 29th in 20:37. Berryville's Reese Johnson finished 30th in 20:38, while teammates Alex Lemus finished 31st in 20:45 and Hayden Braziel finished 33rd in 21:02. Berryville's Josh Wilson finished 40th in 23:37.

4A-5A girls: Harrison won, scoring 28 points and Berryville finished fifth, scoring 106 points. Harrison's Ruthy Ryan won the race in 20:16. Berryville's Cecilia Doss finished ninth in 21:43, while teammates Alexis Steele finished 17th in 23:07 and Lucy Reyes finished 21st in 23:41. Berryville's Hope Braziel finished 32nd in 28:06, while teammates Trinity Rains finished 35th in 29:21 and Samantha Witherby finished 36th in 29:24. Berryville's Mariana Hernandez finished 41st in 32:30. On Saturday, Berryville, Eureka Springs and Green Forest will all compete in Green Forest. The action begins at 8 a.m.
