BV council approves millage rates
The Berryville City Council voted Tuesday to approve Ordinance 1042, establishing millage rates for 2019.
Ordinance 1042 amends chapter 3.10 of the Berryville Municipal Code and sets the millage rates for the calendar year of 2018 of zero mills for rental property millage and personal property millage. The ordinance also states that a voluntary 1-mill rental property cemetery tax and personal property cemetery tax is levied for the purpose of maintaining the Berryville Memorial Cemetery.
The council voted to suspend the rules and pass Ordinance 1042 on all three readings.
Also at the meeting, Mayor Tim McKinney announced that construction has begun on the rural water project.
“The water project is underway. They’re starting to put pipe underground,” he said. “We have a meeting Thursday to go over the details, but they have started.”
The council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at City Hall.
