Connect 4 board approves 2 items
The Connect 4 advisory board met Wednesday in Berryville, voting on just two items.
The board voted 4-0, with three members absent, to approve the installation of firmware and software and anti-virus protection and service for one year at a cost of $6,500.
Also by a 4-0 vote, the board approved the hiring of an individual to clean and mow at the career center, pending a background check. The job will pay $15 an hour, starting at three hours per week and possibly extending to four hours per week.
The board also discussed potential partnerships with local companies who can provide support for the training program and also might be interesting in hiring graduates.
“We want to just keep drumming up people who are interested in being a part of this,” said board president Rodney Ellis.
Ellis said the program recently submitted a total of $138,675 in invoices to be reimbursed through a state grant.
