Golfers staying busy

The area golf teams were busy last week, as they competed in two tournaments in a three-day span. On Tuesday, Berryville was at The Creeks in Cave Springs, while Eureka Springs and Green Forest competed at the Holiday Island Golf Course. On Thursday, all three teams competed at the Carroll County Country Club.

On Tuesday at Cave Springs, Shiloh Christian won the boys tournament, shooting a 232. Berryville finished second, shooting a 304. Berryville's Rusty Colbert shot an 89, while Jace Walker shot a 107 and Brandon Robinson shot a 108. Charlie Davis shot a 115. On the girls side, Har-Ber won, shooting a 264. Berryville's McKayla Hussey shot a 79, which was the low round of the day.

At Holiday Island, Cotter was the only boys team who had enough golfers to form a team. They shot a combined score of 180. Eureka Springs' Levi Crider shot a 43 and David Birchfield shot a 56. Green Forest's Alex Kilbourn shot a 60. On the girls side, Eureka Springs' Katelyn Ross shot a 41 and Green Forest's Ashley Farrar shot a 46.

On Thursday at the Carroll County Country Club, Valley Springs finished first shooting a 293 and Berryville finished second, shooting a 301. Berryville's Colbert shot a 92, while Walker shot a 104 and Davis shot a 105. Robinson shot a 118. Berryville's Hussey shot a 79, which was the low round of the day. Farrar shot a 95 and Ross shot a 97.
