Dorothy Faye Hadley Lynch was born January 26, 1930, in Clifty, Arkansas, the fourth of twelve children to Clyde Herbert and Margaret Esther (Harrison) Hadley. She died at the age of 88 to move to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Shiloh Nursing Home in Springdale.
On October 2, 1948, she married William Robert “Bob” Lynch in Clifty. They soon made a home in Berryville where they raised their five children. Dorothy was a wonderful wife and mother, and a talented painter. She worked at various jobs including Glick Manufacturing, Smith Tire Company, and Jackson Plumbing, and was a meticulous bookkeeper, excelling far beyond her eighth-grade education. With her home always open, she was known to stretch a meal to include any number of her children’s friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 2003; a daughter, Susan Lynch Paine; a grandson, William Matthew Lynch; and five siblings: Hazel Lucille Allen, Alma Margaret “Sis” Rodden, Harold “Bud” Hadley, Ruth Ann Vaughan, and Mitchell Roy Hadley.
She is survived by four children: Peggy Lynch Hermann and husband, Jerry, of Diamond, MO; Jerry Lynch and wife, BJ, of Fort Collins, CO; Eric Lynch of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and Chris Lynch and wife, Bernadette, of Fayetteville. Also surviving are five siblings: Alford James “Shade” Hadley and wife, Barbara, of Berryville; Joan Hadley Young of Clifty; Earl Ray Hadley and wife, Judy, of Fort Smith; Ona Marie Hadley Mullinax and husband, Rusty, of Golden City, MO; Mary Jean Hadley Moore and husband, Cecil, of Golden City, MO; and Vera Lou Hadley Rodden of Clifty; two sisters-in-law: Leona Haynes of Portland, OR, and Zelphia Hadley of Bentonville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Clifty Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
