Storm damage signup authorized for county

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

The Carroll County Farm Service Agency has received authorization to accept applications for Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) benefits for damage to farms caused by last monthís severe storms. Farms near Urbanette suffered considerable damage from powerful straight-line winds and down bursts. Formal signup for this ECP began Monday, Aug. 20, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 28. ECP under this signup contemplates cost-share assistance to remove storm debris and restore permanent fences on eligible farm land.

The Carroll County FSA Committee has requested funding for this signup; however, an allocation has not yet been received. Producers who havenít already reported damage from this storm to the Carroll FSA Office should come in and apply during the signup period and before starting repairs.

Interested persons should contact the Carroll FSA office at (870) 423-2638 for details about this ECP signup and eligibility requirements.
