Appreciation for Achord
When I heard of Police Chief Thomas Achord’s resignation, I was set aback and had to take a pause and reflect. I truly appreciated what our police department had become since 2014 and that is a remarkable local police force that cared about the community. I was and am still proud of these officers that protected our community and it was the result of a good leader. Thomas Achord is a person that values people and understands the complexity of today’s society. I will miss him at the Eureka Springs Police station and I hope that Mayor Butch Berry will be able to find another police chief that will continue to make the Eureka Springs Police Department an example to other cities with its hospitality and protection it provides this community.
