Matthew David Sankovich, 65, of 606 Hailey Rd Berryville, Arkansas, passed away July 28, 2018.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Smith Sankovich. Also surviving is step sons, Drake Sankovich, 18, of Berryville, AR, Mark Eubank, Jr, 38, of Kaufman, TX, and Jason Eubank, 37, of Kemp, TX; a step daughter, Phileta Rogers, 34, and husband Adam of Wynne, AR; grandchildren, Alexander Rogers, 8, and Makayla Eubank, 8.
On November 25, 2008, Matthew and Sharon exchanged vows to each other and God in Sharon's dream commitment wedding ceremony in Las Vegas. On October 10, 2017, they legalized their commitment to each.
Originally from Windber, PA, where he worked many jobs, he put himself through a four-year college program in three years; then worked his way up the ladder at Devereux Foundation in Villanova, PA. He later moved to Orlando, Florida where he again worked his way up the ladder to managing Holiday Inn by Disney World. He met a coworker who was from Arkansas and his stories intrigued Matthew so much, that when he had to retire on disability he moved to Berryville, Ar.
Although life seemed to have dealt him a bad hand, he always had a smile and loved inspiring and bringing happiness to others.
Matthew was a loving husband, Father and Grandfather who was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Sankovich; and a sister Peggy Brewer. No formal services are planned at this time.
Cremation is in the care of Holden Cremation and Funeral Service, Sparta.
