Hearl L. “Gig” Widner, age 83, of Berryville, Ark. passed away, Monday, July 30, 2018, at Autumn Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, Ark.
He was born Jan. 21, 1935 in Boone County, Ark. the son of Gus Widner and Unis Sneed Widner.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Widner; his son, Hearl Michael Widner; his son-in-law, Denny High; his brothers Hubert, Coy, Jimmy, Lloyd and Robert Widner; his sisters, Frankie Chilson and Inice Roberts.
Hearl was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church in Green Forest, Ark. He loved the outdoors, fishing and had worked as a fishing guide. He loved anything to do with horses. He judged horse shows, participated in rodeos and operated a western store. As he grew older, he had an interest in CB radios.
Hearl is survived by his daughters, Kitty High of Oak Grove, Ark. and Robin Moore of Green Forest, Ark.; his grandchildren, D.J. High, Erin Moore, Summer Moore; a brother, Buster Widner and sister, Frances Dixon; a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Villines. Burial will be in the Gass Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Stuart Roberts, Steve Roberts, Gannon Roberts, Matt Widner, Terry Widner, Mark Widner.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerrel Roberts, Loyie Roberts, Leroy Roberts, James Widner, Terry High, Rick Widner and Autumn Hills Nursing Home staff.
