Arkansas, and for the Getty Oil Company and Williams Entergy in Oklahoma. She retired several years ago from Arkwest Communications, Inc., after 18 years of employment.
She fondly remembered her time volunteering for the Appalachia Service Project which helps low-income families in rural Appalachia live in “warmer, safer and drier” homes and personally lived her life every day honoring their mission - “We accept people right where they are, just the way they are.” Sherry spent her retirement years traveling the country with her husband, taking care of her beloved dog Oreo, and spending time with her many friends and children who adored her. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the International Association of Administrative Professionals, the Northwest Arkansas Miata Club, and Bridgewater Memorial Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Vanhoose, Pea Ridge; her daughter, Lauretta Marie (Jeffery Chad) Crawford, Austin, TX; two sons, Michael James (Kimberly Brumble) Vanhoose, Weaverville, NC, Mitchell Jay (Brittany MacDonald) Vanhoose, Nashville, TN; parents, James Frances and Charlene Marie (Butterbaugh) Claypool, Berryville; sister, Shirley (Gary) Messman, Towson, MD. Sherry was a devoted mother and caring person and will be greatly missed by all the people she unofficially adopted and loved, including her great-niece Heather Nicole and many friends of her children. Sherry will also be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends.
