GENEVA JOYCE (ATCHLEY) MEADOR, of Shoals, Indiana was born March 1, 1929 in Oak Grove, Arkansas to Raymon and Bessie (Minick) Atchley. She departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Shoals, Indiana at the age of 89.
She was a teacher in Trinity Springs, a substitute teacher for Shoals Community Schools and in her later years was a homemaker. She was the founder of the Shoals Baptist Church where she served as church pianist. She was also a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper.
On August 6, 1950 she was united in marriage with L.F. Meador who survives her of the home. She is also survived by one son, Raymon Meador and wife, Kathy of Milltown, Indiana; one daughter, Betty Lindauer and husband, Jeff of Jasper, Indiana; one brother, Norman Glen Atchley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Ramona Nance of Green Forest; six grandchildren, Robert Stevens and wife, Ashley; Angela Vogler and husband, Chad; Shane Lienenbach; Justin Leinenbach and wife, Courtney; Raymon Meador, Jr. and wife, Ashlee; Nicole Arney and husband, Dusty; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous other loved ones and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymon and Bessie Atchley.
Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
