Fire on the Mountain to light up sky July 4

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

The fireworks extravaganza Fire on the Mountain returns to Berryville next Wednesday, July 4.

The event has become a summer tradition for family and friends to get together for a backyard barbecue and then, as it becomes dark, to enjoy a dazzling fireworks show together.

The fireworks will begin between dusk and dark, probably around 9 p.m. that night. Fireworks will once again be set off by Fleetwood Pyrotechnics of Salem, Mo.

The city of Berryville and the Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce, event sponsor of the fireworks show, are once again teaming up to make the annual Fire on the Mountain display a reality.

The Chamber is currently seeking contributions this year as in past years to help fund the event. The city of Berryville’s designated fireworks fund will handle the contributions for complete transparency.

Donations by check can be made payable to the ‘City of Berryville’ and mailed to City Hall or the local chamber offices at 506 S. Main Street, Berryville, AR 72616. Businesses and residents can also have their donations picked up by calling the chamber office at 870-423-3704.

Local radio station KTHS 107.1 FM will also simulcast patriotic music over the air during and after the fireworks show, according to radio station manager Jamie Hussey.
