BV struggles against Springdale
The Berryville baseball team closed out the regular season on Monday night with a doubleheader at Springdale.
Springdale 10, Berryville 2
Berryville got off to a rocky start in Monday's first game and was unable to recover. Springdale scored two runs in the bottom of the first. One run was scored on a fielder's choice and the other was scored on an error.
Berryville made it 2-1 in the top of the first, as Charlie Davis reached second base on a Springdale error. Davis stole third and he scored on a wild pitch. Springdale went on to make it 6-1 in the bottom of the second, though. They scored one run on a double to left, scored two more on a triple to right and added another by stealing home.
With two outs in the top of the fourth, Davis drew a walk. He stole second base and third base before scoring on a single by Austin Woods. Springdale scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game out of reach, though.
Braden Logan and Woods each had a hit for Berryville.

Berryville was busy fighting an uphill battle from the start in the second game, as Springdale scored nine runs in the top of the first. Springdale scored two runs by stealing home, another on a wild pitch, scored two runs on a double to left, two more on Berryville errors, added another on a single to right and another on a bases-loaded walk.
Berryville recovered in the bottom of the second, though. With two outs, Trey Curbow singled to score Woods. A Justin Mueller line drive to right advanced Curbow to second and Austin Franklin's blooper to center field scored Curbow. Springdale took an 11-2 lead in the top of the third, though. Springdale scored on a Berryville error and a single to center.
Berryville added its three final runs in the bottom of the third. Logan started the inning with a single to right. Ethan Gregory advanced him to second. Logan went on to score on a fielder's choice. Curbow's single to right scored Gregory. Davis hit a double to right, which scored Curbow.
Curbow had two hits and two RBIs, while Franklin had two hits and an RBI. Jace Walker added a hit as well.
