Berryville Community Center raffles playset
The Berryville Community Center (BCC) is raffling a playset to raise money for its own playground fund.
BCC office manager Deneen Foster said a donor gave the center a playset that includes two swings and a slide. Because the set is not industrial-grade, she said BCC decided to raffle it off to raise money for sturdier equipment.
“If it’s not industrial, then it just doesn’t hold up,” Foster said.
So far, the center has raised about $300 from the raffle, she said. Tickets are $5 each and $20 for five tickets.
The playset is valued at $600, Foster said, and the raffle will last until Monday, July 2.
BCC will deliver the already-assembled playset anywhere within a 10-mile radius of the center, Foster said.
The money raised by the raffle, she said, will probably go to other parks in the city because the park at BCC does not have much more room for additional playsets.
BCC officials worked for approximately three years to acquire the money to create the center’s playground, Foster said.
“I just absolutely love to see kids on it,” she said.
