Lt. Jerry Williams (right) won the service handgun championship in the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office’s annual range qualification. He scored 490 out of a possible 500 points (98 percent) on the Arkansas pistol course. Williams, pictured receiving the trophy from Sheriff Randy Mayfield, has won the trophy four consecutive years. Each year, all CCSO sworn personnel are required to shoot a qualifying score with their duty handgun and off-duty handgun, as well as shotgun and patrol rifle, if carried.
