ROLAND DUANE MALOTTE, was born on February 21, 1946 in Berryville, Arkansas, son of Jasper George and Reva Marie (Beach) Malotte. He departed this life on Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years.
He was of Christian faith, a former first responder and Boy Scout leader. He was passionate about teaching young people life skills and sharing a love of the outdoors. He was a jack of all trades with the ability to take what appeared to be junk and make it into something truly special. He enjoyed training chickens and entertaining people with them. He had a love for picking on his banjo or playing his harmonica with others. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to help others when the need arose.
On June 10, 1967 he was united in marriage to Linda Lou (Simpson) Malotte. He is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years Linda Malotte; daughter, Loretta Malotte of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Dwane Malotte and wife, Tiffany of Oak Grove, Arkansas; three granddaughters, DeAnna Dixon, Madison Malotte, Makayla Malotte; two great grandchildren, Colton Dixon, Anna Dixon; one sister, Ruby Malotte; five brothers, Raymond Malotte, Roy Malotte, Royce Malotte, Marlon Malotte, Darryl Malotte; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Malotte.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Curtis Bradley officiating.
