Highlanders compete at state meet

On Thursday, the Eureka Springs Highlanders competed at the Class 2A state track and field championship in Mineral Springs. The boys finished 15th, scoring 19 points and the Lady Highlanders finished 21st, scoring eight points. Earle won the boys competition, scoring 92 points and Foreman won the girls competition, scoring 80 points. Individual results are as follows:

Boys 1,600-meter run: Eureka Springs' Kayden Eckman finished seventh in 5:02.11.

Boys 3,200-meter run: Eckman finished fourth in 11:29.47.

Boys 110-meter hurdles: Eureka Springs' Brandon Ray finished fourth in 17.37.

Boys 300-meter hurdles: Ray finished fifth in 45.64 and Eckman finished seventh in 46.31.

Boys 4x800-meter relay: Eureka Springs finished eighth in 9:50.63. The team was composed of Jeremiah Morris, Zachary Brothers, Josiah Wilson and Eckman.

Girls Discus Throw: Eureka Springs' Gracie Lester finished second at 92-3.
