On March 4th, 2018, Bonnie Turrell passed away after multiple battles with cancer.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother of four who will be missed by her family and many friends. Bonnie was a strong, independent woman who loved travel and adventure and had a special place in her heart for animals.

Bonnie was born on April 8th, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she graduated from Withrow High School.  After high school, she studied at the University of Cincinnati before joining TWA as an international flight attendant in 1961.  Her eight years with TWA allowed her to travel extensively around the world, an activity she pursued throughout her life.  One of her favorite memories of flying was ferrying troops to and from Vietnam. In 1970, Bonnie married Robert Christian Turrell.  As an Army wife, she moved from one military base to another while raising her son Jake.  One of the more notable assignments was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she lived for three years and worked at the U.S. Embassy.  After returning from Saudi Arabia, Bonnie settled in Texas where she spent many years working for the Texas Department of Transportation.  Later in life, Bonnie retired to Berryville, Arkansas, where she worked for the St. Francis Veterinary Clinic, a job she loved, while also volunteering for the Arkansas Literacy Council and the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank. In Berryville, Bonnie was able to enjoy trail rides with her friends, visits with her grandchildren, and all of her numerous pets.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Elizabeth Kinsey, her devoted step-mother Marjorie Flach Perin, father Levin Belt Perin and brother-in-law George Thompson.  She is survived by her son Jacob and her daughter-in-law Anastasia (Stasi) Verges; grandchildren Calvin, Dawson, Ferris and Remy Turrell; sisters Patricia Thompson and Jean Perin; nephews Keith and George Thompson, her beloved dogs Squirt and Weber and her cat Slick.

A lunch reception for family and friends honoring the life of Ms. Turrell will be held at her home on April 8th at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank in Berryville, Arkansas, where Bonnie was a volunteer.
