BV man sentenced on federal drug charge
A Berryville man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after pleading guilty to federal drug charges.
Vance Lynn Parnin, 49, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 27, to 78 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Parnin was among nine people who were arrested on federal charges in August 2017 after a lengthy investigation of alleged drug trafficking in several counties in north Arkansas.
They were among 11 individuals named in two separate indictments returned by a federal grand jury on July 25, 2017.
All nine of the individuals arrested last August pleaded guilty in October and were sentenced last week. Parnin received the longest prison sentence, with sentences for the other eight defendants ranging from three years of supervised released and a $5,000 fine to 70 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
