Free personal finance workshop for teachers scheduled March 29
Local teachers are invited to a free personal workshop on Thursday, March 29, to benefit them and their classroom students.
The free personal finance dinner-workshop, “Dinner and Dollars,” is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Arvest Bank at 401 W. Trimble in Berryville. The event will be hosted by Economics Arkansas, an educational nonprofit organization that teaches PreK-12 educators how to integrate economics, personal finance and the free enterprise system into the classroom curriculum.
The two-hour event is designed to raise participants’ knowledge and comfort level on personal finance matters. They will learn useful, practical tips and strategies to improve their financial health and teach their PreK-12 students.
Participants will receive dinner, two hours of professional development, resources for students and adults and a $25 stipend.
The workshop is free for certified teachers currently under contract and for pre-service educators, but seating is limited and requires advance reservations. Reservations can be made online at EconomicsArkansas.org or by calling 501-682-4230.
