DENNY JOE HIGH, of Oak Grove, Arkansas was born October 3, 1960 in Branson, Missouri, son of Ferman and Imogene (Davis) High. He departed this life Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 57.
Denny was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Green Forest. He worked at George’s Gas company for over twenty-seven years. Denny enjoyed doing leatherwork and playing his upright bass. He loved helping people and did his job to the best of his ability whether it was filling gas tanks, working on stoves or lighting pilots. He nicknamed himself as being a “Stove-ologist” His family and friends will miss his contagious smile and generous heart.
On March 29, 1991, he was united in marriage to Kitty Ronda (Widner) High, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his son, D.J. High of Oak Grove; two brothers, Randy and Timmy High of Green Forest, in-laws, H.L. “Gig” and Wanda Widner of Berryville; sister-in-law, Robin Moore of Green Forest; two nieces, Erin and Summer Moore of Green Forest; several relatives and many close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferman and Imogene High; grandparents, Dolph and Thelma High and L.C. and Irene Davis.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel with Pastor Kris Villines and Brother Darrell Merriman officiating. Interment held at the Hale Cemetery.
