YAC Giving Tree grant application period slated to begin Wednesday

Nonprofits whose programs support the children and youth of Carroll County can go to arcf.org/givingtree beginning Wednesday, Jan. 10, to apply online for our Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Giving Tree Grants through Carroll County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation. Applications must be submitted online by February 15.

“These Spring YAC Giving Tree grants generally range from $100 to $1,000,” said Janell Robertson, executive director. “Our YAC grant cycle has been supporting programs for local children since 2003 and is the project of our local Youth Advisory Council – a group of students from all three schools, private schools, and home schools that meet to learn about philanthropy and how giving back in many ways can support local programs focused on critical needs, the arts and education.”

Nonprofits can visit arcf.org/givingtree to view Giving Tree grant submission guidelines and begin the easy, online application process. Questions about this grant cycle can be directed to carrollcounty@arcf.org or by calling the local office at 479-253-8203.

Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, government agency or hospital in Carroll County is eligible to apply. Other applicants may be considered if the project has a clear charitable purpose for the public benefit. Grants are not made to individuals. Grants cannot be made for capital projects, travel or office expenses, salaries or marketing campaigns. Applications will be reviewed by a grant-making committee made up of Carroll County Community Foundation YAC Students, and our local Foundation Board Members.

“Through local Giving Tree grants, our state’s nonprofit organizations find support as they implement great ideas to improve their communities,” said Heather Larkin, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “Giving Tree grants are selected by local people in each of our affiliate areas and awarded to local organizations.”
