AMES “JIM” LEONARD BULLOCK, of Berryville, Arkansas was born on October 9, 1928, in Jacksonville, Texas, son of James Earnest and Rena Sara (Kinsey) Bullock. He departed this life, Friday, December 29, 2017 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 89 years.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1980 he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone, and spent the rest of his life enjoying farm life and working part-time at the Great Passion Play. Jim loved attending and being a member of the Freeman Heights Baptist Church. He also enjoyed watching old movies and sports. Jim had the time of his life when he watched the Astro’s win the world series.
He is survived by his son, Jay Bullock and wife, Nancy, of Berryville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Kathryn Johnson and husband, Drew, of Boston, Massachusetts; grandson, Bradley Bullock of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
On June 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Minnie Jeanette (Rutledge) Bullock, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, James and Rena Bullock; son, Jerry Steven Bullock; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and JD Hord and Betty and Ralph Beeman
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Freeman Heights Baptist Church, Berryville, Arkansas with Brother Alan Brown officiating.
