CCSO asks for help in search

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who has been missing for nearly a month.

CCSO investigator Casey Trost said Nicole Lynn Baugher was last seen at 1 a.m. Nov. 9, when she left on foot from 440 Carroll County Road 990, south of Green Forest.

According to Trost, Baugher arrived in Carroll County with her boyfriend on Nov. 7 — the first time she had ever traveled to Arkansas. The two had lived in California but intended to stay in Carroll County permanently.

Trost said Baugher has a history of disappearing for long periods of time without telling anyone where she is going, and she wasn’t reported missing until Nov. 14.

Trost said the sheriff’s office called the search and rescue team to look for Baugher in the days after she was reported missing, but nothing was found.

The investigation was made more difficult because Trost was unable to obtain a usable photo of Baugher until this week, she said.

Trost said Baugher left with no cell phone and no accounts that could be used to trace her whereabouts, although she did have cash. She also left behind her medications.

Baugher’s boyfriend is not a suspect in her disappearance, according to Trost.

Baugher is a Native American, 5 feet, 6 inches and tall and weighing 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo on her right ankle and was last seen wearing a black tank top, black pajama bottoms and slippers. She was six months pregnant at the time she went missing.

Trost said she is working hard to locate Baugher.

“We’re doing our best,” she said. “It’s still open. I’m in constant contact with other departments.”

Anyone with information about Baugher’s whereabouts is asked to contact Trost at 870-423-7373.
