Featured speaker: AGFC director to speak at awards banquet
Jeff Crow, director of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will be the featured speaker at the Annual Berryville Chamber Awards Banquet on Thursday, Oc. 12.
The Awards Banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at the Berryville Community Center and will include a silent auction.
Crow, of Bismarck, has been director of the agency since July 1, 2016, when the commission unanimously selected him to replace Mike Knoedl, who retired after 31 years with Game and Fish, the last five years as director.
Crow began his career with the commission as a wildlife officer in 1986. He left the agency to join the Arkansas State Police in 1996 and worked there until 2011, when he became an instructor at the University of Arkansasí Criminal Justice Institute.
He returned to the commission in 2012 to run its enforcement division. He was promoted to deputy director in 2013 and was named chief of staff in 2014.
The chamberís annual banquet recognizes local citizens and businesses for the contributions they have made to the community. The five awards to be announced Oct. 12 are Noteworthy New Business; Business Excellence; Youth Ambassador; Tom Earls Distinguished Ambassador; and Business Beautification.
