Bloch finishes 2nd in Clarksville
On Tuesday, the Eureka Springs cross country team competed in the University of the Ozarks Invitational in Clarksville. Gabi Bloch finished second overall in the 1A-4A girls race and the Eureka Springs boys finished sixth overall in the 1A-4A race. Individual results are as follows:
Boys 1A-4A: Huntsville won, scoring 52 points, and Eureka Springs finished sixth with 140 points. Jacob Mills of Pottsville won with a time of 18 minutes and 15 seconds and Eureka Springs' Kayden Eckman finished fifth in 18:52. Eureka Springs' Tyler Stephenson finished ninth in 19:33, while teammates Garrett Cross finished 37th in 22:20 and Austin Maloney finished 67th in 24:43. Sam Gay of Eureka Springs finished 79th in 27:09 and teammate Hayden Bullock finished 90th in 31:05.
Girls 1A-4A: Dardanelle won the race, scoring 53 points, and the Lady Highlanders didn't have enough girls to compete in the team standings. Bobbie Johnson of Huntsville won in 21:09 and Bloch finished second in 22:15. Eureka Springs' Ana Tapia finished 25th in 27:21, while Savannah Reeves finished 33rd in 28:31 and Rachel Adams finished 63rd in 33:48.
On Saturday, Eureka Springs will join Berryville and Green Forest at the Bobcat Back 40. The action begins at 9:30 a.m.
