HOMER DOYLE BLANKENSHIP of Berryville, Arkansas was born July 15, 1945 in Nolan, TX, son of Homer Douglas and Addie Christine (Estes) Blankenship. He departed this life Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years.†
Doyle was a member of the Towering Oaks Church, a past deacon of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church for 16 years and youth leader. He received Tyson Grower of the Year 1982, Farm Family of the Year for Carroll County 1991, and Top Dairy Producer 1992.
On May 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Verna Marie (Smith) Blankenship, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Marian Powers and husband, Darren, of Shell Knob, Missouri; son, Heath Blankenship and wife, Jamae, of Berryville; sister, Alice Youngblood and husband, Jimmy, of Green Forest, Arkansas; brother, Tommy Blankenship and wife, Marie, of Gravette, Arkansas; grandchildren, Anna and Dakota Powers of Shell Knob and Dylan and Hunter Blankenship of Berryville; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Christine Blankenship.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, Berryville, Arkansas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, Berryville, Arkansas with Brother Donnie Villines and Brother Mitchell Scitern officiating. Interment will follow the service in the High Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
