Roy Killion

Roy Lee Killion of Green Forest, Ark. (formerly of Waldron, Ark.) passed away Sept. 5, 2017. He was born on Aug. 5, 1943 to Ben Killion and May (Doyle) Killion Hicks in Waldron, Ark. Roy was 74 years of age.

He enjoyed gardening and quilting. He was proud of the 16 years he served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Tyson Foods for 27 years before he retired, working at both the Green Forest and Waldron plants as production coordinator. He loved and supported his church, Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, where he served as a board member and Sunday school teacher.

Roy was a man of honesty and integrity. He was a hard worker and wonderful provider for his family, not only by his diligent work ethic, but by his high morals as well. He was someone who stood up for what he believed and showed us how you are supposed to always do the right thing in any situation. He always gave us good advice, but the best advice was the example he set by the way he lived his life.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Carolyn (Scott) Killion of Green Forest, Ark. His daughter, Lisa Elliott of Arkoma, Okla. His son Eric and daughter-in-law Eric and Amanda Killion of Green Forest, Ark. His granddaughter, Avery Nicole Killion of Green Forest, Ark. His sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Mondale Wagner of Waldron, Ark. Numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Tom Hicks. His brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Mildred Killion. His sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Albert Montgomery. His sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Ed Ridenhour. And also his son, Alan Lee Killion.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Villines and Rev. Michael Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Pilot Cemetery at Waldron, Ark.

Pallbearers: Randy Shores, Glen Dale Wagner, Tom Henthorn, Shane Henthorn, Darrell Merriman and Michael Grigg. Honorary pallbearers: Carl Scott, Don Parker and the Waldron High School Class of 1961.

Visitation was Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Ark.
