Bobby Gene (Bob) Moore, 84, of Weatherford, OK, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. He was born January 22, 1933, in Valley Center, Kansas, the son of Dave and Bertie (Ratley) Moore. He grew up outside of Alpena, AR, along with his 5 brothers and 6 sisters. He served in the U.S. Army as a diesel mechanic, stationed in Germany, during the Korean War.
Bob was a highly-skilled carpenter, had owned Bob Moore Roofing, and had worked as a security guard before opening his vacuum cleaner repair shop. His door was always open for anyone to drop by, visit, and share the love of God.
Bob was a graduate of Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and was an ordained minister. He was a gentle, kind and generous man known for his love of God, family and people. Dad never had a "step" relation, we were all his kids. His family's heritage of faith is his legacy.
Bob is survived by son Robert Moore and wife Michealena; daughters, Trudy Moore, Karen Moore-Chavez, and Debbie Mitchell and husband Mark; step-children, Gary Pickron and wife Ginger, Tex Pickron and wife Barbara, and Mary Thompson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Tennie (Galloway) Moore, brothers, Jerry, Richard, Ervin and Luther Moore, sisters, Anna Johnson, Gladys Martin, Lorene Rabe, Beulah Ward, Hazel Hughes and Rose Shepherd; 3 sons-in-law and one grandchild.
Celebration of Life services will be at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, AR, Saturday, Sept. 23, at 1 pm, with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. Everyone is welcome to arrive at 12 pm for an hour of visitation before the service.
Interment will follow at the Roscoe Cemetery with military honors.
