MARVIN LEON JORGENSEN of Green Forest, Arkansas was born September 16, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Steven and Ruth (Hansen) Jorgensen. He departed this life Monday, September 11, 2017 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 79 years.†
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army Airborne during the Korean conflict stationed in Germany. He attended the First Baptist Church in Green Forest, Arkansas and was a member and post commander of the American Legion Post #162 Jordan Davis in Green Forest.
His favorite pastimes included hunting as well as trout fishing and camping at Paradise Valley Resort. He often spoke fondly of his travels to various places across the country with his wife on his Honda Gold Wing. Closer to home he could always be found at ball games or community events with a big smile on his face, particularly if his grandchildren were involved. He loved his family and friends fiercely and never hesitated to let that be known.
On July 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Glenda Gail (Bishop) Jorgensen who survives him. He is also survived by his sons, Michael Jorgensen of Fox, Arkansas and Mark Jorgensen and wife, Lynnette, of Green Forest; daughters, Jana Claybrook and husband, Eddie, of Summers, Arkansas and Jill Clark and husband, Jay, of Lowell, Arkansas; sister, Fay Bloodworth and husband, Bill, of Taylorsville, Utah; grandchildren, Makayla and Cody Sanders, Makynna Jorgensen, Shawna Jorgensen, Tyler and Brittany Jorgensen and their mother, Vickie, Hayley Clark and Jesse Claybrook; sisters in law and brothers in law, Sharon Needham, Carol Bishop, Beverly and Dale Dorsey, Terry Fancher, Dawn Bishop, Von and Brenda Bishop, Teresa and Steve Kleffman, Sandra Williams, Bobby Bishop; Carmie Jorgensen; half brothers and sisters, Steven Jorgensen Jr., Randy Jorgensen, Mary Tracy, Shirley Valerio, Elaine Hutchison, Jean Peterson, and Aleta Jorgensen; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Ruth Jorgensen; three brothers, Vernon Jorgensen, Alvin Jorgensen and Leo Ray Jorgensen; one sister, Thelma Hurst; half- brother, Kenny Jorgensen; three brothers-in-law, Carol Needham, Ronnie Bishop and Jimmy Bishop; and sister-in-law, Janell Fancher.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Nelsonís Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Nelsonís Green Forest Chapel, Green Forest, Arkansas with Brother Van Edwards, Brother Marvin Emmons, and Kevin Robertson officiating.
