GF graduate receives scholarship from state association of counties
Cole Armer, a 2017 graduate of Green Forest High School, has received the 2017 Matt Morris Scholarship. Armer is the son of Nicole Armer, an employee in the Carroll County Collector’s Office.
Cole Armer, who is a guitar and mandolin instructor, plans to study wildlife conservation at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo.
This memorial scholarship was established following the death of Matt Morris in 1999. Morris was the son of Searcy mayor David Morris, a former Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC) employee. He was also an Arkansas Razorback baseball recruit. The scholarship is funded by donations made in Matt’s name and by the County Judges’ Association. It is awarded each year to an applicant who reminds the scholarship committee of Matt, either through sports involvement or by helping others.
