A sincere thanks
Editor’s Note: This letter was originally sent to Carroll County Newspapers publisher Bob Moore.
Although I live on the lake just across the border in Missouri, I have adopted Berryville as my spiritual home since that is where I pastored my church congregation for 20 years. One of your staff, Kelby Newcomb, assisted by Tavi Ellis and Amanda Nettles, interviewed me at the food bank several weeks ago for an article they were planning with the theme “from NASA to the Loaves & Fishes.” They of course were very interested in what I had done for NASA and the transition to working for Loaves & Fishes. I supplied them with a number of stories and some technical details while they were taking notes and pictures. I really wasn’t sure what they would make of all this information and wondered if I would get an opportunity to review the article and make any corrections. I did receive one phone call requesting clarification on one item.
You can imagine my surprise when I received an email picture from a friend of the front page of the “Currents” with my picture on the front. I of course obtained several copies from your office and read through it with a great deal of interest. I want to compliment your team for a very professional job in how they handled the interview, the photographs and the detailed write-up. I told your photographer Tavi, “you make an old man look very good,” and that applies to the whole team. Thank you for the good work that you do in serving our community. Please express my sincere thanks and appreciation to your team for a fine article.
