MICKEY RAY TAYLOR, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas was born April 13, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona, daughter of Dennis and Pearl (Gentry) McKelvey. She departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017, surrounded by family, at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, Arkansas at the age of 71 years.
She is survived by her sons, Alpha Taylor, Jr. and wife, Susan of Clifty, Arkansas; Robert Taylor and wife, Connie, of Oak Grove, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Chace Taylor and wife, Ashley, of Harrison, Arkansas; Brandon Taylor and wife, Maranda, of Berryville, Arkansas; Bailey Taylor of Oak Grove, Arkansas; four great-grandsons, Brady, Braxton, Deston and Rylan Taylor.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alpha “Tate” Taylor, Sr.; three brothers, John, Jim and Robert McKelvey; four sisters, Clara Hutchens, Blanche Powell, Patsy Lowery and Jo Lambert.
Living most of her young adult life near Green Forest, Arkansas where she and Tate raised their sons, they farmed, hunted and fished. She also enjoyed camping and horseback riding. Later in life, Mickey moved to western Oklahoma to be near her sisters. Returning to Arkansas last year, she continued to enjoy the outdoors; feeding the birds and deer, as well as embroidery and crochet.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Ward Cemetery, south of Green Forest, Arkansas with Pastor Mark Pepple officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
