GF graduate Harness returns as assistant football coach
On Monday, the Green Forest school board hired Tyler Harness to become its new assistant football coach and AP Biology teacher. His spring coaching assignment hasnít been determined.
Harness, a 2010 Green Forest graduate who was the defensive coordinator at Marshall last season, is excited to return to his alma mater.
"It's pretty much a dream come true to come back," Harness said. "It's a place I've wanted to be since I have been coaching. I've always wanted to come back and be a coach at Green Forest. I grew up there. Went to high school there, played football there. It's somewhere I feel special and somewhere I want to be."
Green Forest Athletic Director Bobby Bishop looks forward to working with Harness.
"We are very excited to get Tyler on our staff at Green Forest," Bishop said. "He is a quality young man who will bring energy, excitement and some more hometown pride to our program."
Harness, who was at Marshall for three years, said he looks forward to getting on the field and teaching players.
"I'm excited to be out there in July and in the heat of August leading up to that first game," Harness said. "It's going to be an exciting time for me and my family."
