Fourth-grader Sadie Sharp (left) meets Barbara Burlsworth, the mother of the late Arkansas Razorback football player Brandon Burlsworth. Sharp was portraying Burlsworth as part of Berryville Intermediate School’s Living Wax Museum project. Fourth-grade gifted and talented students chose a famous Arkansan to research and portray in the Living Wax Museum as part of their study of Arkansas history. The museum featured notable Arkansans including civil rights activist Daisy Bates, athletes such as Burlsworth and Scottie Pippen and business leaders such as Don Tyson. Burlsworth, a Harrison native, went from a walk-on offensive lineman to an All-America selection at the University of Arkansas and was a third-round draft choice of the Indianapolis Colts before being killed in a car accident on April 28, 1999, on U.S. Highway 412 near Alpena.
