Hit and run: Berryville woman killed while walking along highway
A Berryville woman was killed late Friday night in an apparent hit-and-run accident, according to the Arkansas State Police.
According to a preliminary report from ASP Cpl. W.K. Trevathan, Courtney R. Henrichson, 25, was walking on or near the roadway on Arkansas Highway 21 south of Oak Grove when she was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
Trevathan’s report said Henrichson’s body was found by another pedestrian. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carroll County coroner.
The report listed the time of the accident as 11:57 p.m. Friday.
A state police spokeswoman said Monday that the accident remains under investigation. A full report had not been complete and no more information was available as of Monday afternoon.
A Facebook post that was shared on several pages over the weekend said that law enforcement officials were seeking information from the public and listed a phone number for Trevathan, but the ASP spokeswoman said the request for information did not come from the ASP.
Henrichson was the 143rd person to die on an Arkansas roadway in 2017.
