Lady 'Cats win at Marshall
The Berryville Lady Bobcats got a convincing 14-3 victory at Marshall on Thursday evening. Berryville scored four runs in the top of the first and coach Josh Hatfield said his team never looked back from there.
"We were up pretty much the whole game," Hatfield said. "Taylor (Kelley) was in control. The inning they scored we had a couple errors, so she pitched really well. She was in command the whole game."
Berryville had lost its last four games. Hatfield hopes the win over Marshall will give the team a boost moving forward.
"Getting back on the winning side is always good," Hatfield said. "Hopefully we can build some confidence and figure out some more things as we go."
This week, Berryville will play four games in five days. Hatfield knows it's important to begin focusing on their end goals.
"We play Lead Hill on Monday," Hatfield said. “We have Bergman on Tuesday, Huntsville Thursday and Gravette Friday. We have a couple more weeks left of this season so we just have to get better everyday and try to be at our best come districts."
Kate Powell scored four runs and had two RBIs, while Maleah Bryant had three runs and Rylea Wright scored two runs. Karley Adams had three RBIs and Taylor Kelley pitched a complete game, giving up two hits and striking out 12.
