Bobcats take care of LH
It was an easy night for the Berryville Bobcat soccer team, which notched its first win of the season with a 9-0 home victory over Lead Hill on Friday.
"They are a 1A school," Berryville coach Joey Curtis said. "They play co-ed. We didn't play any of our starters. It was a good first win for us."
Brian Tovar, who is usually the goal keeper for the Bobcats, played in the field on Friday. Curtis was pleased with the way he, along with many of Tovar's teammates played as well.
"He played really well," Curtis said. "He was able to score a couple of goals as did Johnny Martinez. Robert Quickavix played goalie for us and he did a great job back there for us."
Not only was Curtis glad to see the Bobcats get their first win of the season, Curtis was glad the younger players were able to get some experience in game situations.
"It was great getting experience for those younger guys who are a little bit less experienced," Curtis said. "It's tough to get JV games so for those freshman, those games are good."
