Local schools compete in first track meet of the year

All three Carroll County teams competed at their first outdoor track meet of the year on Thursday in Harrison. While no team produced a great team performance, there were many impressive individual performances. The Harrison boys won, scoring 131 points, while Green Forest finished fifth, scoring 52 points. Berryville finished 12th with six points and Eureka Springs finished 14th with five points. Individual results for the boys are as follows:

High Jump: Berryville's Luke Sugg finished fifth at 5 feet, 8 inches, while Eureka Springs' Kayden Eckman finished seventh at 5-4 and Green Forest's David Nelson finished ninth at 5-3.

Long Jump: Green Forest's Rhett Powell finished second at 19-2.

Triple Jump: Berryville's Cole Parton finished ninth at 36-8.

Shot Put: Berryville's Conner Worley finished 13th at 35-3.

Discus: Green Forest's Carter Boggs finished 12th at 93-10.

Pole Vault: Green Forest's Gabriel Ramos finished fourth at 9-6 and teammate Kevin Solorzano finished fifth at 9-0.

4x800-meter relay: Berryville finished fourth at 10 minutes and six seconds.

110-meter hurdles: Green Forest's Cory Bryant finished third at 17.56, while teammate Kevin Solorzano finished eighth at 19.95 and Berryville's Cesar Martinez finished ninth at 20:01.

100-meter dash: Green Forest's Cory Bryant finished fourth at 11.84.

1,600-meter run: Green Forest's Gabriel Ramos finished third at 4:51 and teammate Rhett Williamson finished fourth at 4:53.

400-meter dash: Berryville's Allen Miranda finished eighth at 58.85 and Green Forest's David Nelson finished ninth at 58.91.

300-meter hurdles: Green Forest's Cory Bryant finished fifth at 46.86, while Eureka Springs' Kayden Eckman finished sixth at 48.26 and Berryville's Cesar Martinez finished ninth at 48.94.

800-meter run: Green Forest's Gabriel Ramos finished fifth at 2:14 and teammate Rhett Williamson finished sixth at 2:16.

200-meter dash: Green Forest's Rhett Powell finished eighth at 25.06.

Bentonville West won on the girls side, scoring 139 points. Green Forest finished third with 86.50 points, while Eureka Springs finished eighth with 12 points and Berryville finished ninth with 11 points. Individual results for the girls are as follows:

High Jump: Green Forest's Lexey Williams won with a jump of 4-6.

Long Jump: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry finished fifth at 15-4, while Berryville's Maryn Jones finished ninth at 15-3 and Green Forest's Lexey Williams finished 10th at 14-0.

Triple Jump: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry finished second at 32-5, while teammate Lexey Williams finished third at 32-0 and Berryville's McKayla Hussey finished seventh at 28-9. Green Forest's Kassidy Bell finished ninth at 28-2.

Discus: Green Forest's Kassidy Bell finished 10th at 70-5.

Pol Vault: Green Forest's Lexey Williams finished second at 7-6 and teammate Mattie Phillips finished fifth at 6-6.

4x800-meter relay: Berryville finished third at 12:41.

100-meter hurdles: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry finished third at 17.99, while teammates Lexey Williams finished sixth at 18.86 and Kassidy Bell finished seventh at 18.97.

100-meter dash: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry finished fifth at 13.99 and Berryville's McKayla Hussey finished ninth at 14.34.

1,600-meter run: Gabi Bloch of Eureka Springs finished third at 5:57 and teammate Rachel Adams finished ninth at 7:29.

4x100-meter relay: Green Forest finished fourth at 59.70 and Berryville finished sixth at 1:08.

400-meter dash: Green Forest's Lyndsay Anglin finished fifth at 1:10.

300-meter hurdles: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry won at 53:00, while teammates Kassidy Bell finished third at 54.63 and Lexey Williams finished sixth at 56.89. Berryville's Alyssa Miranda finished 10th at 1:10.

800-meter run: Eureka Springs' Gabi Bloch finished third at 2:50, while Green Forest's Lyndsay Anglin finished fifth at 2:53 and Green Forest's Emily Bolen finished ninth at 3:11. Heidi Kirk of Eureka Springs finished 10th at 3:14.

200-meter dash: Green Forest's Jennifer Newberry finished ninth at 29.65 and teammate Mattie Phillips finished 10th at 29.93.
