Lady Bobcats beat Shiloh, earn spot in regionals
All of this seasons hard work came down to Monday night for the Berryville Lady Bobcats. A home victory over Shiloh Christian in the first round of the district tournament meant the Lady Bobcats would advance to the regional tournament next week in West Fork. A loss meant the end of their season. Luckily, Berryville came out ready to play and got an easy 60-27 victory.
Hannah Morrell and Jeanessa Smith led the way for the Lady Bobcats early, as the duo paired up to score all 13 points for Berryville in the first quarter. The Lady Bobcats led by eight at the end of the quarter. Kelcee Hopper contributed with five points in the second quarter as the Lady Bobcats took a 26-18 lead into halftime.
A 15-2 run to start the third quarter all but put the game out of reach for the Lady Saints. Morrell scored six of those points and Aspen Smith made a three-pointer. Berryville led 45-21 going into the fourth quarter. Lexy Anderson scored four points in the final quarter en route to the 33-point victory.
Hopper finished the game with 14 points, while Morrell had 12 and Jeanessa Smith had nine.
