GF's Ashley Farrar going to state
On Tuesday, the Green Forest golf team competed in the district tournament at the Oak Ridge golf course in Huntsville. Ashley Farrar shot a 95, which was good enough to advance to the state tournament at Mountain Ranch Golf Club in Mountain View next Tuesday.
Coach Kyle Farrar, Ashley's dad, is proud of the way she played.
"She has played a lot of rounds of golf and that was one of the best she has played," Kyle Farrar said. "Getting to go to state for a second year in a row is pretty impressive. Hopefully, she can improve off last year's performance."
Rubi Perez shot a 126, while David Nelson shot a 119 and his brother Ian shot a 151.
"They had good seasons," Kyle Farrar said. "It was a fun group to be around. They all improved as they year went on. I hate it for David because, as a senior he never got to go to state."
Melbourne and Clinton were the two teams that advanced from both the boys and girls side.
